Presentation
Released on September 29, 2017 by us, the SNES Mini (or Super NES Classic Mini or Super Nintendo Entertainment System Mini) is a console emulating the Super Nintendo (16-bit console from 1992).
This console was released in three different formats (European, North American and Japanese), thus taking up the three original formats from the 90s.
North American version
The European console is 16.5 cm wide, 22.5 long and 7.8 high for a total of 300g which makes it a very practical console for transport.
Please note that the original controllers do not have the same connector and are therefore not usable. Unlike the classic Wii controller. Additionally, and unfortunately, it is not possible to insert original cartridges because there is no built-in reader.

⚠ Watch out for copies ⚠
Unfortunately, in recent years, the increasing popularity of retrogaming has led to a resurgence of pirate consoles or pale copies of existing consoles. And the SNES Mini is no exception!
Having spent time on sales platforms to unearth rare gems, we were able to see that consoles that look like two drops of water to the SNES Mini can be sold as Nintendo products and at the same price.
How to differentiate them?
Here are a few things to pay attention to:
- The very large number of games which are often pirated copies or of very poor quality
- The absence of the Nintendo logo on the console as well as on the controllers
- The controller connectors visible on the front of the console (on the official console, they are hidden)
